Music Is Now YouTube's Most Profitable Category

Music only represents 5% of the content uploaded to YouTube, but it represents 20% of the total views on the platform. Because music videos are shorter in length than the average YouTube video, music is the platform's most profitable, according to a new study by Pex.

Music and Entertainment are the only two categories that disproportionately deliver high returns (views) on investment (amount of content = hosting & distribution cost).
